addr.com - any experience?

By wktd | March 16, 2010

  • Hi,

i would like to know if anybody of you have some experience with this hosting service: Addr.com (http://www.addr.com).

I setuped account there and now need info about mySQL server to run vBBoard. But they are saying on mySQL-HOW-TO`s pages (http://www.addr.com/show.cgi?howtos-use_mysql):

    Sorry...
    Upgrade in Progresss
The article which you requested is temporarily down for maintenance. Please check back later.

Can anybody guess when the mySQL account info will be "published", or does anybody knows when this "situation" started?

    They don`t reply on e-mails (sent 3).

If they don't answer the emails of a prospective client, they sure as heck won't answer them when you are a paying customer.....

  • Thank you guys for your help.

  • They were my first webhost (not for mySQL) and mysql is a new feature, they certainl did not have it when i used them (8 months ago)

They really are get what you pay for, i had my website replaced by theirs at one point, guessing a httpd.conf error. They fixed it eventually, i reported friday night and it was done by monday so clearly no weekend staff. I would go for something better.

  • kiji,

I had experience with addr.com and didn't like their support at all, then moved to ThinkHost (http://www.thinkhost.com) (Great so far) :)

I have tried http://www.superuser.net and http://www.addr.com before and they both ignore e-mail's  (support=0)

I would suggest you to go with thinkhost.com

  • i hear a lot of good stuff about thinkhost but becase it has a very good affiliate program that lots of people have on their sites i am always wary but they do look good.
