Alright, I am a Junior in high school right now and I really have no idea how to approach this stuff. I considered myself a fairly decent student, although pretty lazy, and I am currently taking Dual Credit Biology 150. I have taken my PSAT and I will be taking my ACT this Spring, up in North Dakota they use the ACT more than the SAT.
I guess I am wondering what I should major in and what job would best suit me. I want to do something I like, but I want to make a decent wage also. There is basically two roads I could see myself going down as far as subject, Computer Science and something with Ancient Literature, I really love Mythology.
After going off in la la land for a bit, What classes should I enroll into for either both or one of the subjects? What jobs could I be working when I graduate? Do you think I could be turned off by those subjects in college? If any of you have personal experiences about these majors or just college in general, I would love to hear.
Thank you so much. Lots of things will change for you. Firstly, there will hopefully be advisors to help you register for classes when you go for orientation for whatever college you end up enrolling in. They can help you pick out what core classes and major-specific classes to take. As far as jobs go, I would not worry about this until you get close to finishing college...your college career will give you lots of information about jobs in the fields you like. Also, it's totally possible for you to find different interests once you get to college. The average undergrad changes their major 3 times before graduating. I went into college thinking that music was the only thing I could ever do with my life; now, I'm working on a degree in math education with music as my minor. What's wrong with majoring in Computer Science and minoring in ancient literature? Nothing. In fact people so this sort of thing all the time. If you get an udergraduate degree in computer science you'll make a decent wage as long as you can demonstrate your skills. Getting certified in a particular technology boosts your marketability. If you go this route, it won't matter which minor you choose.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
