Files not showing up on SMB share

  • hi, i'm trying to set up an smb share so i can view videos off my comp, but when i connect to it none of the files show up.

    what am i doing wrong? i'm not getting any sort of error message.


  • well clicking on them should do the trick.
    check the xbmc.log in the xbmc folder for errors.


  • smb//:mshome;xbox:xbox@geno/movies
    if this realy is the line you use it is wrong. it should start with smb://


  • sometimes, i have to hit back and go into the directory again to get the files up. but i guess you've tried that. post your smb and xbmc config.


  • okay it works now, but i have another problem.

    when i click on a video file to play, it doesnt do anything. how do i load them?

    that is what i have set for the samba share in my .xml

    ive turned on allowances for the xbox username and what not. yet files still dont show up.

    and as for xbmc settings, i havent changed any from what is standard.
