Opinion: What grade (K-5) would you teach? And why?

By cfz | March 13, 2010

  • I'm in the home stretch of getting my degree in ECE. I have been in many schools and also have worked and tutored in grades but haven't quite determined which grade is for me. I'm just curious as to what grade you would teach or how you figured out what grade to teach if that is your profession.

  • Your Lesson the Sky is Blue:

    K - What is Sky?
1 - The Sky is Blue?
2 - Wow the Sky IS blue!
3 - Why is the Sky Blue?
4 - What part of the sky?
    5. The Sky is No necessary Blue All the time, is it?!

1 or 2nd for me! The are having fun learning!

  • Kindergarden.. Because The papers would be easy to grade.. The kids don't get in physical fights usually.. and Yah thats about it.

  • id say the little bitties! (p-1st i think) i just love the little ones and how sweet and loving they are.. and the idea of teaching them everything they'll need to be able to learn in the future. But i haven't started subing yet.. and have a friend who was going for ECE and when she started subing she realized that she'd rather teach highschool. This year was her first year teaching and shes at a low income school teaching 10th and 12th grade english.. completely not what she thought she wanted!

  • id teach 12th..but since you said k-5 id do 1st grade

  • Kindergarten. Children are the most likely to be innocent at this age and it is an important time to show them how to use good manners, to be kind, to share, to teach them basic skills and help them learn. I feel like they need to have that year as a good experience so that they can have a brighter future :)

  • K well the kids would be cute but I think I'd get bored.

Fourth or Fifth because I liked the books my teachers read aloud best when I was that age, and I'd have more fun creating a 'classroom' library for those ages... never mind all of those other things I'd have to do as a teacher. I'm all about the books.

  • K or 1st I say, so cute, much more fun, and a lot less attitudes!!! lol... Good luck and best wishes!!

  • 4 or 5, the rest is a mess.

  • maybe kindergarden just because its so fun!
you can be creative and teach them at the same time!
plus they're adorable & always come back to visit :D

  • 5th...because 5th graders r mature and easy 2 teach. Plus in 5ht grade at my elementary school taught aviation and I'd love 2 teach dat!!!!

  • i would teach propley 5th grade so i can have mature kids and prepare them for middle school

  • 4th b/c that's when their most likely to prove that they are responsible, and that they can do things on their own etc.

  • I would teach 3rd grade, because they can do many things on their own and are independent enough that you don't have to help them with everything, but they still are obedient enough to listen to the teacher.

  • i know this sounds crazy, but i always wanted to be a kindergarden teacher, i am early/elementary but im changing to elem with spec. ed. i heard its harder teacher the younger kids, but i teach pre school for church and the younger kids are much more interesting to me. i wouldnt want to teach anything higher than 3rd tho. i dont know why, most people love the older grades, but id prefer teaching the younger grades, even tho its a bit more stressful.

  • 3rd grade

  • 4 because the kids haven't gotten to the point where they think they are the best and give the teacher attitude but they still will pay attention and be tidy and somewhat responsible

  • When I'm older, I'm going to be a 2nd Grade teacher. I think the reason is mostly because I really liked my 2nd Grade teacher, so I got my inspirtation to become a teacher from her. I also think it's a great age, where it's very basic material, but it is material which they will need to use as the foundations for their learning throughout life. (haha that was deep!) But they're not too young, and they're not too old! Just right lol =] Goodluck! xo

  • 4th grade. For me it was a turning point. I just got out of the first school and got into the second school. The age group has 10 year olds in it, double digits. They're more able to pick up information than some child in K and the behaviors have grown sense 1,2, and 3. The good kids develop and they're easy to handle, and teach. The bad kids you can pick out and discipline. The very intelligent student is able to be picked out and can further enhance his studies.

  • third because the kids can do stuff by themselves but aren't crazy and all over the place

  • 5th, people are more mature

some1 please help me, no one has answered! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  • I was still in elementary school in 6th grade.
    I would teach 5th grade.

  • I'm an Education major myself and i want to teach 2nd grade. Younger kids are just so funny and little things make them so excited.

  • 5th they should be the most mature

  • k....itd always b naptime
