Question about Computer/IT Jobs?

By smith | March 11, 2010

  • I recently graduated with a BS in computer science and now I think its time to find myself a normal job in my profession. Problem is, all the jobs require 4-5 years of experience in the field to be "qualified". So now I am wondering how am I supposed to get that experience if no jobs around are looking for someone who just graduated and doesnt quite have experience yet.

Im looking to go into the IT and Networking field, I do have experience in it but its really my own hands on experience just networking home computers.

Anyone have some advice where I can start off?

  • MCSE is a waste of your time. Over 500,000 experienced MCSE networking people were laid off during the recession following the bubble burst of 2001. Only CCIE certifications are worth your time and money and they're expensive. Sorry but this is the reality. You had better go back and get your Masters degree while the economy sucks. It will be a few years before things begin to turn and you have a shot at getting onboard somewhere viable.
