What is the difference between job description and job specification?

By anonym | March 14, 2010

  • A job desciption is what the job entails-- what you will be doing once you are hired. A job specification is what is required of you to get the job ie: computer skills, degree, etc

  • Pogi Ako (Handsome Me, Filipino)

Job description explains the nature of one's work.

Job specification is an instruction for a carpenter, a technician, n architect or a craftsman on what to do on a contcated project to be done and detailing all materials to be used.

Are you a Filipino? Where are you writing from?

  • The difference is? DUHHH! One description is decribing the job that is needed. Two the specification is what is required to obtain the job.
